A view from a humbug! Throughout the school life of a child, the school and parents are inevitably trying to raise funds for the school. All manner of ingenuity is used to generate cash for the school for equipment to support the educational activities of the school. And this is nothing compared to the needs of third world schools.
Wouldn’t it be great if the craze for school proms were to become more modest affairs and less socially divisive. The excess funds saved could be given as a donation to the school or to nominated third world school. And not a stretched limo in sight.
