Young Author of the Year Stories

Intuitive Media run a number of safe social learning networks for children (including Superclubs Plus and Goldstar Cafe). The children at my own school love using Superclubs Plus to send email, design their own webpages, chat in forums and meet other children in the moderated environment provided by the service.

Young Author of the Year 2008

Intuitive Media and Scholastic have just announced the launch of the first book written by the children of SuperClubsPLUS and GoldStarCafe. Thousands of children took part and submitted stories illustrating their talent and creativity. The children wrote their stories at school and at home.

The competition will run again later in the year, and Superclubs will be having ‘Hot Seats’ where children can ask questions to a number authors, receiving replies (almost) instantly via their messaging service. Amazing!

Yes Mark – this looks really great – we are going to take part at Capel-le-Ferne Primary (I’m in Class 3 next year). Particularly interested in the Hot Seats – which so motivational for young writers.

A pupil from our school(St Mary’s CEP Folkestone) won a book prize, from a previous creative writing project run by Intuitive Media on Superclubsplus and was really motivated to continue writing.
I have a Year 5 class next year and will definitely be encouraging my pupils to take part.
With Scholastic supporting this writing project and with Jacqueline Wilson involved as well, there should be 100’s of international stories being sent in from pupils across the 40+ countries that use SCP and GSC.
