The BBC have produced a number of new resources for schools who teach children about the Vikings. Video animations are available covering some of the best known stories from Viking Sagas. Children can find out how Odin creates the world and the first human beings, how Thor does battle with the giants and why the goddess Freya kisses some goblins.

Transcripts of the animations are also available to download, so children could use them as play scripts and to record their own versions of the videos. The BBC School Radio site is a fantastic resource, so take a look around if you haven’t visited for a while.
