• Inspiring Creative Technology – Simon Haughton shares his teaching experiences, including many brilliant ICT ideas.

• Digital-Teacher – Simon Widdowson posts regularly about lots of school-related issues. Some of these include his explorations of various online tools as his school attempts to set up their own virtual learning environment.
• Steps in Teaching and Learning – This blog, created by Kevin McLaughlin, is another valuable source of information for teachers, particularly those with an interest in ICT.
• Bits & Bobs – Nicola Stables is a regular blogger who shares her teaching ideas and experiences with this wonderful blog.

• I Learn Technology - Kelly Tenkely is a technology teacher who shares useful ideas and teaching links on this fantastic blog.
• Adventures in Learning – EBD35 only started blogging recently and has written some interesting posts already about the use of the Nintendo Wii to support learning in the classroom.

• Mr Finlayson – This blog is made by an Australian teacher, Alex Finlayson, who shares his teaching experiences (including the use of computer games like Myst).
  
• Larry Ferlazzo’s Websites of the Day – A wonderful collection of links or teachers to explore, created by Larry Ferlazzo.
• Primarypete – Another great ICT / Education blog with detailed information about a range of resources and how they have been used in the classroom. Created by Peter Richardson.

Teaching News aims to share the latest news, links and teaching ideas, in order to support teachers around the world.

The site was created by merging two existing teaching blogs:

• Primary Teacher UK – This blog was set up by Andrew Ross in 2005 and contained education-related news, suggested links and lots of useful information for teachers. After four years of regular updates, Andrew sadly decided to end the blog. However, he kindly allowed me to take over the site, so that I was able to ensure that all of his useful content (along with that of the other contributors to his blog) remained online.
• Teaching Blog – The Teaching Blog was originally created in May 2009 to accompany my own Teaching Ideas site, allowing me to share news and information about the site. I also added links to useful sites and shared teaching news as often as possible.

The content from both of these blogs has now been combined and it is my aim to update this new site as regularly as possible.

Mark Warner

I’m Mark Warner… I’m a primary teacher and I’ve been running a number of websites to support teachers for many years. I was very sad to read Andrew’s recent post about the end of this blog, as I’ve always found the site to be an extremely useful source of education news and information.

Andrew has kindly allowed me to take over the running of Primary Teacher UK, which I’m very excited about. The site has obviously been a huge amount of work for him, and I’m keen to ensure that all of the information that he (and his guest contributors) have previously posted stays online. I’m also looking forward to posting more news, links and information.

I recently started another blog for teachers, over at www.teachingblog.co.uk, where I’ve been posting teaching news and links to some great educational sites. I’m thinking about merging these two blogs at some point, so that all of the content is in one place. However, I probably won’t be able to organise this for a while as I’m getting married next week!

I hope you’re as pleased as I am that Primary Teacher UK will be continuing… and I hope I do as good a job as Andrew did.

The site is expanding at an incredible rate. I try to update the RSS feed regularly, and this week over 50 new ideas have been added, with three brand new presentations! If you haven’t seen the site yet, take a look… if you haven’t contributed to one of the presentations, please get in touch the creator – their details are usually on the first or last page of each presentation.

UPDATE – There are now more than 1000 ideas to inspire on the site!

Thank you for reading my new ‘Teaching Blog‘. This new blog replaces the old Teaching Ideas News pages which were a bit clunky and weren’t very easy to update.

These pages will be used to post teaching news and information, to share recommended teaching resources, and to tell you of updates to my various web sites. Find out more about these on the ‘About Me‘ page.
