Easter break

PersonalI hope that everyone has a good Easter break. Some schools have already broken up, others have another couple of days. Either way I'll be away from the computer for the next couple of weeks. Whichever is relevant to you – have a good break and don't eat too many Easter Eggs!

NPQH Assessment

PersonalAfter my two days assessment for the new NPQH – I'm just so tired so I'll post properly tomorrow.  For anyone that gets into the next round – the assessors manage to find everything out about you.  It's tiring, it's hard work, it's very reflective and it's very revealing about yourself!  Why do we put ourselves through it! :)

PersonalOnce again Christmas is upon us and I'll be sharing Christmas with my family so I'll be taking a break till
the new year.

If, over the Christmas period or in the
new year, you feel that you would like to contribute with posts, or links to new and relevant sites for Primary Teachers please
email me (rossa@primary-teacher-uk.co.uk).

Finally may I take this opportunity to wish all our readers a very
happy Christmas and a peaceful new year. Thank you for all your kind comments and
suggestions over the last year. Take care to all of you. See you in the
new year.

Andrew.

Filling in the NPQH

PersonalWhy the shortage of posts this last week?  I’ve been filling in the NPQH application form.

Wow – is it any wonder that there is a shortage of headteachers!  Filling in the NPQH application form is hardly a quick process.  You may not have to write more (600 characters per example) but it’s difficult to say everything you want in so few words.

Anyway it’s all completed now.  For those that are thinking about applying this round I suggest you take a good look at it – it has to be completed by noon on the 7th – including your supporting statement from the headteacher.

15 minutes of fame

PersonalThey say that everyone has 15minutes of fame.  Mine came on Friday when I was involved in an advert for the new TESconnect website.  The advert, which is in this weeks TES, links to the Top Trumps cards that I made available on the TES site.

Back

PersonalAfter a lovely and very wet two weeks camping in Wales and Herefordshire with my wife and daughter I’m back in sunny Cheshire.  I was hoping to have the new site up and running by now, but unfortunately, due to an dead fan, overheated processor and an ancient computer I had a major meltdown on my PC.  The result is good though – I didn’t lose anywork and have turned my back on PC’s and purchased an iMac

So, over the next couple of weeks I’m going to try and update the new site and get it ready for September as well as make some postings on here!

Summer Holidays

PersonalIt’s the summer holidays and the weather is beautiful. I’m going to be away on and off for the next month enjoying the delights of the British countryside with my family. In between I’m trying to set up a Joomla based Primary Teacher UK so that everyone can post articles by just logging in.

Keeping this site up to date how I would like it is becoming near impossible due to time restrictions. Hopefully the new site, will allow everyone to contribute as well as adding some further features which are just not available with Typepad. If anyone has any experience of Joomla and thinks they may have some spare to help out I’d love to hear from you. You can email me at rossa@primary-teacher-uk.co.uk.

Have a great summer break – any announcements regarding the new site will be made here. And, if I don’t manage to get the new site up and running by the end of August, I’ll hopefully continue posting here.

Andrew

PS If you have got a few hours a week spare how about this?
