		</p><p><a id="aptureLink_e0rW3rSZHx" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blog">Blogs</a> are a wonderful way of discovering education news, ideas and new web links. I&#8217;ve been reading blogs for quite a while now, and I use <a id="aptureLink_1Qy4685bd7" href="http://reader.google.com/">Google Reader</a> to do this. Each day, I visit the Google Reader site to see what my favourite websites and education blogs have to share&#8230; it&#8217;s much easier than having to go around the different websites manually.</p>
<p>To add new sites to Google Reader&#8217;s list, I just add the RSS feed. It&#8217;s not as difficult as it sounds. To find out more about RSS, watch this handy video:</p>
<div id="aptureLink_CCSJGFZnQA" style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; display: block; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 6px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 6px;"><object id="apture_embedPlayer1" classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="340" height="285" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" type="application/futuresplash"><param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="never" /><param name="flashvars" value="start=0" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0klgLsSxGsU&amp;rel=0&amp;showinfo=0&amp;iv_load_policy=3" /><param name="name" value="apture_embedPlayer1" /><embed id="apture_embedPlayer1" type="application/futuresplash" width="340" height="285" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0klgLsSxGsU&amp;rel=0&amp;showinfo=0&amp;iv_load_policy=3" name="apture_embedPlayer1" flashvars="start=0" allowscriptaccess="never" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff"></embed></object></div>
<div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: auto; display: block; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 6px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 6px; text-align: left;">If you use RSS (or you&#8217;ve just started), try adding some of these sites to your list:</div>
<div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: auto; display: block; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 6px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 6px; text-align: left;">
<ul>
<li><a href="http://www.teachingnews.co.uk">Teaching News</a> &#8211; Of course, this site should definitely be in your RSS feed! Our blog has the latest teaching news, links and ideas, as well as the archives from Andrew Ross&#8217; fantastic Primary Teacher UK site, and my own Teaching Blog.</li>
<li><a href="http://tbarrett.edublogs.org/">ICT in my Classroom</a> &#8211; Tom Barrett always writes lots of top quality posts about his use of ICT at his school.</li>
<li><a href="http://www.dougbelshaw.com/">DougBelshaw.com</a> &#8211; Doug also writes about his own work in schools, as well as his thoughts on technology and productivity.</li>
<li><a href="http://www.timrylands.com/blog/">Tim Rylands</a> &#8211; Tim is famous for using the computer game Myst in the classroom. However, he has MANY other ideas and wonderful resources to share. Highly recommended.</li>
<li><a href="http://www.primaryresources.co.uk/blog/">Primary Resources Blog</a> &#8211; Find out the latest news and updates to the wonderful &#8216;<a href="http://www.primaryresources.co.uk/">Primary Resources</a>&#8216; site.</li>
<li><a href="http://www.teachingideas.co.uk/newideas.htm">Teaching Ideas New Additions</a> &#8211; This page (which has it&#8217;s own RSS feed) highlights the most recent ideas and resources on the <a href="http://www.teachingideas.co.uk/">Teaching Ideas</a> site.</li>
<li><a href="http://mrkp.edublogs.org/">Teaching with Technology</a> &#8211; Steve Kirkpatrick is also a teacher who writes about his work in school and his uses of technology to enhance learning.</li>
<li><a href="http://www.mrwarner.com/">MrWarner.com</a> &#8211; This is my own teaching blog, where I&#8217;ve been sharing my own classroom experiences and recommended ICT tools to try with your own pupils.</li>
</ul>
</div>
<p>There are lots of other wonderful education blogs&#8230; far too many to list in one post. So, I&#8217;ll share some more of my favourite blogs another time!</p>
<p>If you have a good education blog to share, please leave a comment or <a href="mailto:mark@teachingideas.com?Subject=TN Favourite Blogs">send me an email</a>! Thanks.</p>
